This week has been a good one! We
have met with new families and had some good lessons. We went to see the Pierce
family which was a referral from Julie Yardley and her family. We realized that
they are in our area and so we went to their house and they weren't home.... We
visited some other members in their area and ended up teaching a lesson to a
non member and that went great! The girl we taught was really open to what we
had to say and she is wanting to know more. She is moving to Oregon for college
in 2 weeks so we will try and do everything we can before she leaves. After her
lesson we went back over to the Pierce's and we talked with them for almost 2
hours...... It was really good talking with them and they were surprised when I
told them that I knew Julie and her family! Larry Pierce told us that we were
possibly the only missionaries that he had ever allowed to actually stay and
talk with him at his house! I really believe that it was because we knew people
that they know! That just shows you how powerful a referral can be!!
Our
weekly lesson with Robin fell through, she had to go into work at the last
minute but we have a lesson with her tomorrow. She is really catching on to the
gospel. She is really strong in her church but when she comes around she is
going to catch on fire! She is going to be a great member some day!! Her faith
in Christ is amazing! And she really believes that God answers prayers!! She is
just struggling with prophets! We will continue to work with her and she will
be great!!
For one of our dinner
appointments this week we got invited to a big Luau for a wedding reception!!
It was crazy! There was so much food and the people were so fun to watch!! The
food was amazing and there was no way that we were leaving there hungry,
everyone just kept saying "Elders Eat!!" and they would bring us more
and more food!! Hawaiians love their
food!!!
This Sunday was my
first fast Sunday here in Hawaii! It was awesome to hear all of the testimonies
from the members in our ward!! One of our recent converts got up and bore his
testimony and it was amazing!! The spirit was so strong when he spoke and if
you didn't know any better you would think that he has been a member his whole life!!
He loves the Gospel and knows so much!!! I love seeing our converts
grow!!
We had another
lesson with Kalena at bishop's house and it went great. Kalena has his
baptismal date for the 17th of this month and he is totally ready!! The only
thing that will be hard for him is that his wife is due any
day to give birth and so we are hoping that the baby can come
already so he can commit to a date for sure!! Other than that he is
for sure ready for baptism!!
For P-day today
we went bowling on the military base!! It was awesome and we had a great time!
We basically had the whole place to our self!!!

Hawaii and everything is going great here!! I would love to hear from you all!!
