July 3rd what a day....Tanner was set apart as a Missionary at 8 am by President Anderson. He was given the most beautiful blessing! In the blessing it said, that he was a missionary just like Peter and Paul and Heavenly Father was so happy with him, he would be healthy and strong, he would be a peacemaker among his companions, he had been taught to work and that will bless him, he will be protected, he will have trials but will have the faith to fight through them, he will be safe, and most importantly he was told in this blessing to write to his mother and give her the details of his mission:) Saying goodbye to family and friends was so hard, lots of tears but it was time, off to the MTC!
On our way to the MTC Tyanna didn't feel well and starting throwing up in the car, by this time I was feeling a little over whelmed! We stopped to have lunch with Jer, Marcy & the kids, and say one more goodbye!( more tears) We stopped for a few minutes near the Provo Temple waiting for 1:00! Pulling into the MTC, we hugged him and told him how much we loved him and he was off! Back in the car we all cried, Ty was so sad her best friend was leaving her and little Taytum with tears rolling down her cheeks didn't quite understand! Bitter sweet moment, and a long ride home!
What a day! I am glad that part is behind us! I am so proud of Tanner and his decision to serve a mission!
He is such a great example to my girls and his cousins!
We are looking forward to hearing from him and all of his experiences! The girls can not wait to send him a package! Taytum wants to text him, she doesn't understand why he cant have his phone:) We are truly blessed to have a missionary son and will miss him everyday, but we know he is in the right place!
