Aloha Everyone
Well
what a week! We have had a crazy week. My companion was transferred, sad to
see him go I will miss him for sure but that how it is! My new comp is Elder
Luke from Heber Utah... he is awesome and we are getting along great! He is
super quite but once I get him to talk he is great! He loves sports so that
makes it nice! We have lots in common!
We did a
service project with some of the other Elders... We helped them with one of
their members at his farm! This member got injured at his job and cant do a
lot of the things he needs done on the farm so we go help him! His farm is
a lot different than the ones I'm used to back home! Lots less land and
everything is so close! We helped him mow his grass around his barn... He has a lawn at his farm! Then he has two horses, we feed them and ran them
in his pen for him then let them lose to graze in the field.... Mucked the
stalls and then made a fence for him! Being there made me miss the farm and
doing that kind of work!!
Our investigators are great! Slowly but surely they are coming along! We
met a high school Junior, his name is Dane Utu.... He knows lots about the
Church and has good Friends that are members! We are excited to get to work
with him and see where things go!
Yesterday was mission tour! All of Oahu got together and Elder Dallin Johnsten
of the 70 came and was there with us! He is a very funny guy! He had all the
wards on the island bring at least one representative to the meeting with
us.... He directed his message towards the members and how they can better help
the missionaries! He made it really fun always making jokes and having a good
time! He had all of us break up with our person from our ward and he asked us
to teach a principal of the gospel to them and then all the names that the
member thought of we were supposed to write them down and set up appointments
with them! He was very bold, but it worked. Our bishop was with us and because
of this he wants us to do this with every family that we eat with! Elder
Johnsten said that every member should (as a family) make a list of EVERY
person they know that is not a member.... then each week pray together on which
names you are going to invite to meet the missionaries! He was saying there are
only 1 of 2 things that will happen! They will say no and you will still be
friends or they will say yes and become even better friends! He made it sound
so simple!!
Today for pday
we went on a hike to a water fall.... but it wasn't that easy! The hike
wasn't supposed to be very long but it was like a maze through the jungle and
we ended up walking in circles! Finally we saw some one and just followed
them!! Finally found the water fall!! Just too bad that we couldn't get in!!
Had a great time though!!
Well I love
each and everyone of you and hope you all have a great week!! Thank you so much
for everything!!
Elder Gale
